OLYMPIA – Two Employment Security Department staff received a top leadership honor from Gov. Bob Ferguson on Tuesday.
Employment Security’s Tatjana Roberts and Dan Zeitlin earned the Governor’s Outstanding Leadership Award, which recognizes managers in state government who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through performance results in the previous year.
“We’re proud of Tatjana’s and Dan’s excellent work that supports Employment Security’s vital mission,” Employment Security Commissioner Cami Feek said. “We’re pleased that the governor recognized the incredible leadership they display every day. Their dedication to serving their state and the people of Washington is extraordinary.”
Roberts is the claims center enterprise manager for the agency’s Unemployment Insurance Customer Support Division. Her nominator said her sustained leadership has been transformative, driving both strategic progress and a cultural shift within the division.
Roberts recently created a Leadership Development Academy, a growth and development program aimed to help staff learn about leading virtual teams, emotional intelligence, building trust and more.
Zeitlin is the agency’s chief of staff. His nominator said his work building strategic alliances with local, state and federal partners has been pivotal to support the economic security of Washingtonians.
Zeitlin also oversaw new federal policy creating unemployment benefits during the pandemic and multiple federal grants to improve equitable access to unemployment services.
