What is an individual placement partner?

The Washington Service Corps individual placement(IP) program places members with local nonprofit agencies, community and faith based organizations, schools and local government sponsor agencies in order to address unmet local needs of the community in which they serve. IP AmeriCorps members must be between the ages of 18-25 and serve full-time (40 hours per week) for 10.5 months.  The IP sponsor organization must develop the service opportunities, recruit, train, and supervise the members and manage and track the project.

What is a team based partner?

Creative partnerships with local government entities, faith and community based organizations and nonprofit agencies, play a critical role in the Washington Service Corps’ ability to support communities as they address their most pressing needs. These needs are met through service activities addressing five priority areas: education, the environment, emergency preparedness, public safety, and health/human needs. Generally, a team based site will consist of 12 members and one full time supervisor. Each team based program is expected to have a specific focus area, and operate under a contractual agreement.
