Attention: New hours at Unemployment Insurance Claims Centers
To improve our ability to serve customers in the face of workload challenges, our phone lines for speaking to an agent will now be available between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The remainder of the day, agents will respond to claimants who have been waiting to speak to them.
This change also means you must also file weekly claims by 4 p.m. the last business day of the week. Other automated services are still available during regular hours.

When you file a new claim by phone, we first ask you a series of questions (PDF, 35KB), which you will answer using the keypad on your telephone.
After you answer the questions, we will transfer you to a claims specialist to complete your claim. The actual number of questions you are asked varies depending on the type of claim you are filing and how you answer the questions.
If you are directed to mail or fax something to the claims center, make sure you do so.
To apply by phone, call the claims center at 800-318-6022 (TTY 800-365-8969). Claim centers are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can get into the phone queue to speak to an agent until 4 p.m.
