Veterans job fair in Tacoma - Oct. 19, 2006

OLYMPIA – Pierce County WorkSource and American Veterans (AMVETS) Post # 1 are co-sponsoring a job fair to help veterans and National Guard and Reserve members find good jobs.

The job fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at American Veterans (AMVETS) Post # 1, 5717 South Tyler, in Tacoma. There is no charge for admission.

About 60 employers will be represented, including Federal Express Ground, Coca-Cola, Comcast, Gordon Trucking, Madden Industrial Craftsmen Inc. and Primerica, to name a few. Government job opportunities with the city of Tacoma, Port of Seattle, Internal Revenue Service, The Evergreen State College, and numerous state and local law-enforcement agencies also will be showcased.

All veterans, especially Reserve and National Guard members returning from war, are encouraged to attend. The general public also is invited to attend.

Applicants should bring copies of their résumé and be prepared to interview with recruitment specialists. WorkSource staff will be available to provide advice and assistance with résumés, interviewing and training opportunities.
