SPOKANE – Spokane-area businesses and WorkSource are teaming up to help veterans and National Guard and Reserve members find good jobs.

A “Hire-A-Vet First” job fair is set for Thursday, June 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., at WorkSource Spokane, 130 South Arthur.  There is no charge for admission.

More than 15 employers will participate, including Hollister-Stier Laboratories, Huntwood Industries, Inland Northwest Health Services, Isothermal Systems Research Inc., Trans-Systems Inc., Premier Manufacturing, Snyder’s Bakery and Goodrich Corp., to name a few.  Government job opportunities with Washington State Patrol, Department of Corrections, Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane County, the city of Spokane and the Spokane Veterans Home also will be showcased.

“Spokane’s expanding economy is creating many employment opportunities for local job seekers,” said Mollie Patshkowski, a business liaison for WorkSource.  “This fair is a great way for local veterans to connect with quality employers that are looking to hire.”

Applicants should bring copies of their resume and be prepared to interview with recruitment specialists.  WorkSource staff also will be available to provide advice and assistance with resumes, interviewing and training opportunities.

WorkSource is a partnership of business, government agencies, colleges and non-profit organizations that offer career services for job seekers and business.

The veterans’ job fair is open to the public.  For additional information, contact WorkSource Spokane at (509) 532-3186 or visit the WorkSource Web site at www.workspokane.org
