OLYMPIA – State agencies are joining forces to educate Tri-Cities businesses about tax requirements and local services.

A free workshop is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 25, at WorkSource Columbia Basin, located at 815 N. Kellogg, Suite D, in Kennewick.

Topics include tax requirements for various types of businesses, how to report and pay state taxes properly, requirements for reporting new employees and the services that are available through WorkSource. Participants also will get tips on controlling their unemployment-insurance and worker-compensation costs. The workshop is sponsored by the departments of Labor & Industries, Revenue, and Social and Health Services’ Division of Child Support, as well as the Employment Security Department and WorkSource Columbia Basin.

Businesses can register through the Employment Security district tax office at 509-735-0939. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. Admission is free.
