WorkSource Operations Division profile
WorkSource sites statewide and the Web site provide no-fee job-listing and referral services to match employers and job seekers. Special programs and services are available for employers, welfare recipients, veterans, farm workers, persons of disability, unemployment insurance claimants, youth and others.
The opportunity
WorkSource Sunnyside contributes to the employment and economic well-being of workers and businesses in Sunnyside.
You will develop credibility and carry out the agency’s strategic goals. A great reputation comes through excellent service and leadership. You will lead the administration and operations of employment and training services. As the WorkSource Manager, you will be instrumental in planning, designing, and delivering these services. You will supervise a team of fifteen staff and ensure that daily activities are accomplished and the office runs smoothly. You will enhance our agency’s high-performance culture and use data and measures to recognize and reward excellence.
Key to our community success is the relationship with our local business and community partners. You will work with partners to jointly plan and to evaluate customer input. You will find ways to build and maintain strong partnerships that support the WorkSource mission and provide value-added services.
The WorkSource Sunnyside community includes the cities of Sunnyside, Wapato, Toppenish, Granger, and Grandview. Your local annual budget will be $700,000 plus.
About Sunnyside
Located in south central Washington, Sunnyside is part of the scenic Yakima Valley. Sunnyside is a leisurely two to three hour drive from Seattle, Spokane or Portland, and at the midpoint between Yakima (35 miles) and the Tri-Cities (45 miles) in the central part of Washington State.
The Yakima Valley is a viticulture area and was Washington State’s first appellation, established in 1983. The Yakima Valley is now home to more than 60 wineries and over one third of the state’s vineyards.

Desired qualifications
Top candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or a closely related field, and three to five years of experience supervising and managing programs. Preference will be given to candidates with experience leading staff in a team based environment that focuses on continuous quality-improvement, team building, and emphasizes delivery of quality services. Experience working with employer groups, labor, and lawmakers in support of local and state initiatives is a plus. Highly professional and effective communication skills are essential. Understanding seasonal or agricultural labor market needs and the impacts of the local culture is desirable.
Salary Information
Annual salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications. Base negotiations will start at $52,700.
