The opportunity
WorkSource Spokane is seeking an Office Assistant 3 to contribute to the achievement of our team goals. We need someone who can communicate effectively, resolve problems, compose professional office correspondence, establish and maintain complex electronic or manual file systems or data base files, review and verify fiscal reports for accuracy, and order, receive and maintain supplies. Your support will allow other staff to effectively complete their tasks of delivering superior employment services.
Major duties
- Documents, maintains, and retrieves electronic records.
- Responsibly and accurately handles financial transactions and/or commits fiscal resources.
- Performs a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments.
- Purchases office supplies and maintains appropriate basic office supplies.
- Reviews timesheets for errors and completeness.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of various agency documents, forms, and reports. Reviews and verifies fiscal report for accuracy; investigates and corrects errors to ensure compliance with established procedures and policies.
- Prepares routine office correspondence.
Required qualifications
This position requires high school graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience.
Desired qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who clearly demonstrate following skills and experiences in their letter of interest.
- Skilled user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- At least one year of experience compiling and sorting data, performing basic mathematical calculations, and creating graphs and flow charts based on that data.
- At least one year of experience writing memorandums, letters, or business correspondence on behalf of supervisor or company; top candidates will have strong writing, editing, and English grammar skills.
- Professional demeanor and customer-focused communication skills on the phone and in person.
- Experience in human resources, fiscal/budget, or office management.
