The King County Telecenter is looking for three part-time Office Assistants to provide clerical support in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.

Unemployment Insurance Division profile
The Unemployment Insurance division administers and provides program services through statewide TeleCenters and its Web site. This division collects premiums from Washington employers and pays UI benefits to individuals who meet eligibility requirements. It also reviews, audits, and investigates instances of fraud.
The opportunity
The King County Telecenter is part of the Unemployment Insurance Division of the Washington State Employment Security Department. We are committed to delivering timely unemployment benefits. We are a high-volume production environment where our team meets reoccurring deadlines. We are looking for an Office Assistant 3 to enhance our team’s performance.
As an Office Assistant 3, you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments such as preparing reports and reviewing, verifying, and processing documents. You will retrieve data as well as modify and enter data by numerical and alphabetical systems.
Duties will include utilizing electronic systems to access imaged documents, such as claimant and employer initial reports/responses (triage). You will assist in data entry with Call Message Recording (CMRs), pin resets, and address changes. In addition, you will assist in the queue process in sorting, routing and merging documentations. Also assists with processing returned and undelivered mail. Identify, research, route, and document reasons for incorrect address and/or undeliverable mail and process documents with in a specified timeline.
You will use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook extensively, as well as other agency-unique software programs for data entry and tracking.
Work Schedule: These are part-time, non-permanent positions. Work schedule is flexible and will be from 24 to 35 hours per week, depending the business need. These non-permanent positions will last for up to one year, but will not exceed one year.
Required qualifications
This position requires a high school graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience.
Desired qualifications
The most successful candidate will be inspired by and thrive in this high-production environment. Top candidates will be highly proficient users of Word, Excel, and Outlook, type at least 40 words per minute, and enter data accurately into a database. Preference will be given to candidates with experience answering high-volume telephones and providing customer service via telephone.
We need someone with the ability to learn new programs and concepts using internal program systems that include: conducting searches; merging and attaching documents from one system to another; e-mail multiple documents; sort and route to alternate databases with an attention to detail.
