The opportunity

The Employment Security Department’s Information Technology Services Division is recruiting for an expert-level, technical-support position in telecommunications for the agency, including the two telecenter telecommunications systems. The primary responsibilities include the supervision of the telecommunications unit; routine support and administration of the agency’s telecommunications systems (e.g. PBX, BCM, CallPilot, Symposium); troubleshooting and solving system issues; working with business partners on changes or improvements to those systems; and working on strategic planning for improving services to customers.

Major duties

  • Serves as an expert in the area of telecommunications, to include PBX, BCM, voicemail, systems and their connectivity.
  • Plans, analyzes, and leads strategic business initiatives and legislative mandates for telecommunications initiatives.
  • Develops telecommunications systems architecture.
  • Performs as project leader for integrating new telecommunications technologies with existing technologies.
  • Develops and implements standards and procedures for telecommunications systems.
  • Develops, plans and coordinates agency-wide implementation of new PBX, BCM, voicemail, and call center software and hardware.
  • Serves as management advisor and technical consultant to enhance and maintain on-going operation of agency telecommunications systems, hardware, software, and applications.
  • Develops telecommunications business plans, decision packages, and acquisition strategy for Department of Information Services review.
  • Negotiates service level agreements for telecommunications mission critical applications or services.

Required qualifications
Four years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Special Requirements
Two years experience supervising staff providing telecommunications support in a distributed, multi-site organization.

 

Desired qualifications

  • Two years experience providing operational support of telecommunications systems for a distributed, multisite organization.

     

  • Two years experience providing operational support of call center telecommunications systems.  

     

  • Two years experience supervising telecommunications staff who are proving operation support to telecommunications systems.
