The opportunity
The Tax and Wage Technology (TWT) Unit is recruiting for a Web applications developer to design, develop, test, implement, maintain and enhance applications for all of the systems that TWT supports.

Major duties
This position independently performs consulting, designing, programming, installation, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting and/or technical support for applications, hardware and software products, databases, database management systems and support products. Under supervision from a technical lead, this position helps maintain applications such as TAXIS, agency-wide web applications such as LAPS, the imaging system, Next Generation Tax System (NGTS) and is part of a web development resource pool responsible for maintaining production systems.

Required qualifications
Four years of information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, installing, programming, and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infra-structure equipment or providing customer or technical support in information technology.

Special requirements

  • Three years of experience programming using an object oriented language (e.g., VB.NET, C#.NET or Java), a relational database management system (e.g., Microsoft SQL or Oracle), analyzing data, testing, evaluating, resolving complex problems and/or making recommendations.

  • Three years of experience of technical troubleshooting or problem solving experience with computer applications.

Desired qualifications

  • At least three years of programming experience maintaining and supporting .NET web applications using Visual Studio.
  • Experience in writing Windows services.
